Teaching reading without curriculum (aka: lap-teaching…) is simple. Uncomplicated. Relational. At some point (with lots of overlap), a child can move from tracing, drawing, sounding out and pointing at letters from the safety and loving comfort of your lap.
From the time a child can hold a pencil (without crying), dictation is our most efficacious tool to teach reading in a loving, safe, personalized and perfectly tailored reading program for a child.
I’ve written tons on dictation, and I’ll link here rather than re-write the wheel.
And I wish you all the love and cozy you imagined on your journey.
