Well, that is the name of my blog.
Well why do you call it that? That’s a funny name.
Well I call it that because I am a mammal and I am working at being a better mammal. I’m practicing.
YOU ARE NOT A CAMEL! (note to self: get the hearing checked, she was four inches from my face when I said it).
You are right, I am not a camel, but I actually said mammal. I’m the kind of creature who feeds my young milk from my mammary glands. So I’m a mammal.
All creatures do that.
Nope. Some don’t. Like humans, I was thinking. Let’s all act a little more like the class we were born into, shall we? I named off a few creatures that do not nurse their young. Frogs being one of them. At this point, Rosebud got a little sad and reflective. Why do frogs leave their eggs? Why? The babies just have to find their own food. It’s not fair. How do they take care of themselves?
As I am sitting in bed with her, talking and she is all ready to sleep, I say, why don’t we look that up tomorrow, we can find out how baby frogs survive and what they eat, okay?
Okay, she says. I forget, is F part of the alphabet? Yes. Then we can look it up in the F Encyclopedia in the morning.
That is a good idea, Rosebud. Good night. I love you.
